31 December 2018 is coming into general application the EU Ship Recycling Regulation (EU SRR 1257/2013).
In accordance with this Regulation, the ship must maintain an Inventory of Hazardous Materials — IHM (Inventory of Hazardous Materials — IHM).
The report is developed taking into account laboratory analyses of samples taken from ships by a certified DNV-GL specialist (if necessary) and submits it for consideration to the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. After reviewing the RS documentation and formalizing the relevant RS certificates (declarations) to the ships, we notify that the relevant certificates are ready for transfer.
The IHM should be developed in accordance with requirements of following normative documents:
- Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (2009 – SR/CONF/45)
- Regulation (EU) No. 1257/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 November 2013
- Guidelines for the Development of the Inventory of Hazardous Materials (2015 - MEPC.269(68))
- EMSA Guidelines for the Development of the Inventory of Hazardous Materials 2017
